Default Question: Can I use a DJ mixer as a headphone amplifier for my turntable?

I own an audio technica ATLP-120 turntable and when using headphones I plug them into my adequate 90s era Panasonic stereo which gives an average enough sound.. I was wondering if I were to get a DJ mixer could that act as a headphone amplifier with the stereo RCA from my turntable (being run through the internal pre-amp) plugged in? This would only be a temporary set-up in order to enhance sound quality and bass frequencies in some way until I can get a better stereo system or receiver. Thanking y all..
