Default buy refurbished electronics, or not

It would depend on the price of the refurbished item. If it's unusually cheap, then it's pretty obvious that something is wrong with it and it can be risky.

But otherwise, I would buy a refurbished product.

Personally, I NEVER buy used items. When I was younger, I would always buy used games, but half the time they were somehow broken or wouldn't work. From that point on, I've always bought brand new items. Sure it's a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I've bought a number of refurbished items, and have never had a moment's trouble with them. The way I look at it, someone else found the first bug, and so the device got repaired and checked over enough to be put back on the market. I bought some wireless headphones MANY years ago, and they're still working like a champ; I only paid about half what they would have cost new. I don't buy big-ticket items this way - mostly just small stuff - but so far, I've never had a problem with ANY refurbished item I've bought.

I do so frequently, but only from a store that offers a warranty, even if I have to pay extra for the warranty. In Ontario, one of the best store for this is called Factory Direct. On the other hand, I find exceptional prices on new items at Canada Computers. Good luck.

Yes, that is all I can afford. I paid 100.00 for this computer that I am using now. Had it for a year and I am completely happy with it. Got it from a flea market booth where the man refurbishes them.

Yes, but be certain that it works before buying.

It's fine. The less money you spend the better. If something bad happens to it I'll just sue whoever I bought it from and get more money back.

for me it is just OK as long as warranty covers replacement of the unit for free and at the same time price is much much lesser than the brand new.
