Pretty straight forward, I recently broke my old phone (Nokia 2730) I am with Dodo on a $20 plan with 100mb data monthly. I am wanting to know if I would be able to buy an unlocked android and just pop my SIM in (apparently, some carriers aren't compatible?) and then be able to make and receive calls/txts at least? I don't particularly care about being able to go online with it, but it would be a bonus. Sorry if this is one of those stupid questions LOL, I just really don't know alot about the new phones that are available.



Any help is much appreciated, please give as much detail as possible.

Of course you can. Only Telstra users will have some issues as their Next G network uses a different frequency to other carriers and most Android phones (except for a few) are not compatible with Telstra's frequency (you're stuck with their 2G network). But most Android phones will definitely work with any SIM cards.
