I have had an iPhone 4 for 2 years now and my contract is about to expire. I have been looking at new phones and have decided I'm either going to get the 5 or the S4. I currently have a Mac and an iPad so the iCloud is a plus at the moment. I'm not a huge tech freak but I am pretty knowledgeable on computers so not every aspect of the S4 is useful to me. I am a huge sports fan so I am constantly reading sports on my phone. I also do enjoy playing games. I'm sort of nervous that the S4 will be too big. I looked at the Galaxy Note and it looked too big. After doing some research it seems as though the S4 will be close in size to the Note. It just seems like the S4 is light years ahead of Apple. The specs seem far superior to the 5. I also like how you can add memory if you run out on the S4. I also would be ecstatic because of Flash. What do you guys think?

I was in your situation. But I realized if I had a Mac, an iPod, and iPhone and iPad, getting the iPhone 5 would be boring. I wouldn't feel like I'm getting something new and its all the same. So I bought an s3 and I love it! Great battery, HD screen, and its customizable (unlike iPhones)

Okay, a Iphone would be great to fit into your eco system. BUT. do you want to be stuck to one brand or try new things? That is one question you need to ask yourself first of all.

For your sports interest. S4 wins in that category. It has google now, which is like siri, But faster and provides more information. although it is less.... personal. But has a more "human" voice.

Games, the Iphone has a slight edge. Iphone has SLIGHTLY more games. But these are expensive and most of them can be found on android for a cheaper price or free.

The S4 is about the same size as the S3, If not SLIGHTLY more smaller. But the screen is bigger, this means you will need to proably use two hands if your doing things like browsing the internet. But when it comes to content and movies, this is a huge advantage.

The S4 is smaller than the note, by quite a lot, just because it is the same size as it's predecessor does not mean the screen is smaller, it is infact larger, but they the screen takes more of the phone front now.

And that's correct. The S4 is light years ahead in technological advances. And the same says for the operating system android. Iphone operating system have looked pretty identical since the first. Unlike Android which constantly improve until there perfect.

And you would be able to use flash with one of the alternative browsers from the play store.. such as firefox or dolphin browser HD.


I would go for the S4. Critics say it will outsell the iphone 5 by a few million, due to people becoming more fond of Samsung.

Iphone has the best security by far of any smartphone (because all code gets reviewed first before it can get into the appstore). To me thats the most important thing with a phone, no need to run antivirus or worry about what you are installing on it. The design is also better, far thinner and lighter, and isn't like a plate in your pocket.
